iPhone 15 Series Camera Specifications Leaked Ahead of September 12 Launch: All Details

[ad_1]

iPhone 15 series is expected to launch on September 12 at Apple’s Wonderlust event. The lineup is expected to offer four models – iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. There have been several leaks and rumours on the upcoming iPhone 15 smartphones in the past few months, and there’s no stopping them. Ahead of the launch on September 12, a new leak has surfaced online that tips the camera specifications of the iPhone 15 models.

As per a MacRumors report, the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus are expected to be equipped with a 48-megapixel primary rear sensor with an aperture of f/1.6, which is a significant improvement over the 12-megapixel main sensor of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. There is also said to be a secondary a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens and an aperture of f/2.4.

The report added that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models are expected to launch with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX803 primary rear sensor with an aperture of f/1.78, a 12.7-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens and an aperture of f/2.8, and a 13.4-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/2.2. The high-end iPhone Pro Max is expected to come with a periscopic telephoto lens.

A recent report suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro variants are likely to cost more than the preceding models over its rumoured upgraded hardware, which is tipped to include a new titanium chassis over stainless steel ones and a periscope lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new chassis is expected to bring down the weight of the iPhone models.

This year, users in India could get the iPhone 15 on the same day as the global release. A report hinted that the iPhone 15 models manufactured under the Make in India campaign are likely to launch alongside the global launch of the lineup with little or no delay at all. Meanwhile, a tipster recently stated that the iPhone 15 Pro Max release could be delayed by up to 4 weeks over its September 12 launch date due to camera sensor production issues.

Realme Pad 2 Review: A Stylish Upgrade That Covers the Basics

Realme Pad 2 Review: A Stylish Upgrade That Covers the Basics

[ad_1]

Since its debut in 2018, Realme has only launched two tablet devices so far. The Realme Pad 2 is the brand’s second tablet and comes with some performance and design-related improvements over the previous model. It also adds cellular connectivity to the mix which makes it a unique offering in the sub-Rs. 20,000 tablet segment, which consists mainly of budget-friendly tablets that lack this feature. There’s also faster charging, and a fast 120Hz refresh rate display. More importantly, the base variant is also equipped with 6GB of RAM and its software has been optimised for a wide-screen experience. But has Realme cut any corners to deliver a tablet at this competitive price, and can it actually beat the recently launched Redmi Pad when it comes to value? Let’s find out.

Realme Pad 2 price in India

The base variant of the Realme Pad 2 is priced at Rs. 19,999 in India and it gets you 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The top-end variant offers 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and is priced at Rs. 22,999. Both variants offer LTE connectivity as standard, so the higher price tag over the older model is certainly justified especially when you consider the other upgrades it offers.

Realme Pad 2 design

The tablet is available in two finishes — Imagination Grey and Inspiration Green. As one can tell, Realme is targeting both these products at the youth, and the vibrant green unit we received for review sure looks refreshing even though I did find it a bit similar to Oppo’s Pad Air in terms of construction and materials used.

Realme Pad 2 speakers side ndtv RealmePad2 Realme

The cutouts for the speaker grilles appear quite discreet and minimalistic

The Realme Pad 2 has a metal frame with flat sides and a chassis with a polycarbonate insert which takes up about a quarter of the rear surface. The plastic band sits on the top-half of the device (when held horizontally) and stretches from edge to edge (including the frame) with the large camera module placed at one end. The insert conveniently hides all the necessary antennas for radio communications under it. The camera bump, although prominent, does not protrude by much and does not make the tablet wobble when placed on a flat surface.

Since there are no joints or antenna gaps because of this minimalistic design approach, it ends up feeling quite premium and is also quite slim (7.2mm). I also liked the perforations for the four speaker grilles which also look minimal and discreet. There is a large 11.5-inch LCD display with a thin bezel all round with rounded corner cutouts, which blend well with Realme’s software interface.

Realme Pad 2 design side ndtv RealmePad2 Realme

The Realme Pad 2’s design uses a mix of metal, glass and polycarbonate

Just like the previous model, the Realme Pad 2 also does not come with any optional accessories. It’s unclear why the Pad does not even have a basic kickstand folio cover on sale, but this does hint that the brand does not expect its tablet to be used for anything else other than a media consumption device. And since there is no optional case or stand, this meant that I had to always hold the tablet up or at an angle when viewing content or browsing through its interface. Weighing in at 518g, it did get tiring to hold up this tablet at the required angle especially while watching movies or shows.

Realme Pad 2 specifications and software

The Realme Pad 2 is powered by a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 SoC and has been available in a number of budget-friendly devices for a while. This list of devices also includes the Redmi Pad which is this device’s primary competitor. Communication standards include Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.2, support for several LTE bands and the usual satellite global positioning systems.

There’s no headphone jack for those who want to plug in. But you do get a SIM card tray which has space for one SIM card and one microSD card, with support for up to 1TB of storage. The tablet has a 8,360mAh battery that can be charged using the 33W charger provided in the box.

For a sub Rs. 20,000 tablet I was also a bit surprised to see no form of secure biometric authentication. Just like the previous model, the Realme Pad 2 also lacks a fingerprint reader and the only way to unlock the device without typing in a passcode is to use the 2D face unlock. While this isn’t a secure means to unlock any personal device, it did work well in most lighting conditions except in pitch darkness.

Realme Pad 2 software front ndtv RealmePad2 Realme

The Realme Pad 2 is capable of displaying up to three apps at a time

An improvement over the older Realme Pad would be its software interface. It isn’t a ‘lite’ or a stripped-down version of the regular Realme UI interface that is found on some of its entry-level devices which also included the previous model. The new Realme Pad 2 gets the full treatment with all the personalisation features that one would expect from its smartphones, and some more. This includes a bottom dock which shows pinned and recently-launched apps that are active in the background. However, the usefulness of this dock is limited to the homescreen as it’s not available nor can be summoned anywhere else in the interface or pulled up over third-party apps.

The Realme Pad 2, unlike most other Realme devices and tablets at this price point, was not loaded with bloatware and had only one preinstalled third-party app (Facebook), which can be uninstalled.

Despite not having any officially supported accessories this tablet optimised version of Realme UI does have full touch pad support (under Additional Settings) with full support for gestures one would perform on a regular trackpad. There’s also the regulars like the ability to run two apps in split-screen with one additional app which can be launched in a pop-up window, letting one have three apps on display at once.

Realme Pad 2 performance

It is possible to properly multi-task on this tablet. I could keep five Chrome tabs open along with the YouTube app displaying reels side by side in split-screen mode. It’s also possible to open a floating window while doing all of this and the system seems to handle it just fine, with some lag when drawing long web-pages.

Regardless of this tablet’s software performance which was good for a budget tablet, I did like the aspect ratio of this wide display. It is ideal for consuming content and is broad enough to run split-screen apps side by side. Thankfully, Realme has included support for Widevine L1 which let me stream and enjoy full-HD video content on this tablet. Outdoor visibility is good, but the display loses contrast when viewed at an angle. At the same time, the display isn’t the sharpest one out there (given its resolution and size) and its MEMC high-refresh rate system gets quite choppy from time to time when scrolling or when transitioning between video and apps.

As for benchmarks, the tablet performed as expected managing scores that were on par with budget smartphones at this price point. The Realme Pad 2 scored 4,29,907 points in AnTuTu, along with 726 and 1,975 points in Geekbench’s single and multi-core tests. In terms of graphics the tablet managed 25fps, 55fps and 15fps in GFXBench’s Manhattan 3.1, T-Rex and Car Chase test suites respectively.

Realme Pad 2 display front ndtv RealmePad2 Realme

The Realme Pad 2’s display is the largest among its competitors but it’s not the sharpest

The MediaTek Helio G99 isn’t a performance powerhouse, but it’s good enough for running day to day errands. This makes this tablet better-suited for casual games than graphics-heavy titles despite having a 120Hz refresh rate display. I did try out Asphalt 9: Legends and it worked just fine at default settings with some skipped frames and minor stuttering.

What I liked about the gaming and video viewing experience was the sound which has improved over the simpler dual speaker setup on the previous model. The sound is definitely louder and more immersive compared to the previous model. The tablet also comes equipped with Dolby Atmos support.

The Realme Pad 2 has a 5-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. As expected, the primary shooter offers basic image quality below average detail but closer to natural colours. Textures even in broad daylight were mostly flat so you are indeed better off shooting with any smartphone camera available at this price point.

Selfies from the front-facing camera show low detail and flat textures. This camera is better suited for video calling as it did a good job of handling background exposure when shooting video, which is useful when placing video calls.

The Realme Pad 2 has a 5-megapixel primary camera

Battery life is quite solid for a budget tablet. In our standard battery loop video test, the Realme Pad 2 managed an impressive 26 hours and 13 minutes. With or without a SIM card inside, it can easily last around 2 days with heavy usage and 3 days with casual use, which is good for a slim tablet. The addition of LTE connectivity also means that it’s a reliable road warrior that can provide uninterrupted entertainment (for OTT apps) or connectivity (video calls etc.) when on the move. Its bigger battery also means that it will last a lot longer than any smartphone that’s in your pocket.

As for charging, the 33W charger managed to charge up the tablet to 33 percent in 30 minutes and 62 percent in an hour, completing the charge in 1 hour and 36 minutes, which isn’t bad for a tablet.

Verdict

From a broader standpoint, the Realme Pad 2 remains the same in terms of form and function as the previous model. It’s best used as a media consumption device and nothing more. Realme missed the opportunity to utilise the tablet as a light productivity device by not launching a keyboard accessory with it. Neither can it be used scribble on, because it does not offer stylus support either.

However, the Realme Pad 2 builds on the weaknesses of its predecessor and manages to be an all-rounder of sorts by adding high-refresh rate display, an updated processor and cellular connectivity to its feature set. At Rs. 19,999, it’s hard to get anything like it in the market. Its closest competition includes the Redmi Pad (Review) and the Oppo Pad Air (Review) which may be priced a bit lower, but lacks cellular connectivity, and have smaller displays and batteries.

iPhone 15 Series to Go On Sale in India the Same Day or Few Days After Global Launch: Report

iPhone 15 Series to Go On Sale in India the Same Day or Few Days After Global Launch: Report

[ad_1]

iPhone 15 series is expected to be launched on September 12 at an event called ‘Wonderlust’ that will take place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. Starting at 10 AM local time, the event will also be live-streamed on apple.com and the Apple TV app. The iPhone 15 lineup is expected to consist of four models – iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Ahead of the launch, a report now suggests that the iPhone 15 models will go on sale in India on the same day or just a few days after the global availability of the phones.

To promote electronics production in India, the government has started providing a number of incentives to mobile, laptop, and semiconductor manufacturers. This not only contributes to the gross domestic production of the country, but also helps in the creation of multiple jobs within the production and distribution sector.

An Economic Times report suggests that the iPhone 15 models that are to be manufactured under the Make in India scheme, may be available in the market around the same time as the global release of the products. The units are said to be manufactured in Apple assembler Foxconn’s Chennai factory.

The report noted that last year with the launch of iPhone 14, the made-in-India units went on sale within 10 days of the global launch. This year the company expects an even lesser lag, if any and Apple will have the Chennai-based Foxconn manufacturing unit first serve the local Indian market and then be considered for export.

Notably, the government recently imposed restrictions on the import of several electronic items like laptops, tablets, and personal computers. The restrictions were to be effective immediately starting in the first week of August, but have now been pushed back by three months and clearance of import for certain electronic items will be required from November 1.

Tecno Phantom V Flip Allegedly Spotted on Google Play Console Listing, Could Run on Dimensity 1300 SoC

[ad_1]

Tecno Phantom V Flip launch could happen very soon. The Transsion Holdings subsidiary is yet to confirm the official launch date of the smartphone, but ahead of it, the purported clamshell foldable phone has reportedly appeared on the Google Play Console website with model number AD11. The listing suggests MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC on the Tecno Phantom V Flip. It is expected to run on Android 13. Tecno’s foldable smartphone portfolio currently includes the Tecno Phantom V Fold that went official earlier this year.

A report by Pricebaba has revealed screenshots of the listing of Tecno Phantom V Flip on the Google Play Console website. The screenshots indicate model number AD11 for the device. The listing suggests 8GB RAM, and Android 13 operating system on the upcoming handset. It is listed with MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC, coupled with ARM Mali G77 GPU. The listing shows a full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,640 pixel resolution and 480ppi pixel density on the flip phone.

Further, the Google Play Console listing purportedly includes an official-looking image that shows the Tecno Phantom V Flip with its hole-punch design and a curved display.

As of now, Tecno has not mentioned anything about the existence of the Tecno Phantom V Flip. Past leaks suggested an October launch timeline for the device. It is expected to come in Film White, Minimal Black, and Periwinkle Purple colour options.

The Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G is tipped to feature a 6.9-inch AMOLED full-HD+ primary display and a 1.32-inch AMOLED outer panel with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. Past reports suggest that the handset would be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage.

It is likely to flaunt a dual camera unit at the rear, including a 64-megapixel primary rear sensor and a 13-megapixel sensor. The Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G could get a 32-megapixel front camera. It is likely to be backed by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.

Tecno currently has a book-style foldable Tecno Phantom V Fold in its portfolio. The handset was released in April in India with a price tag of Rs. 88,888. The upcoming Tecno Phantom V Flip is expected to compete with the likes of Galaxy Z Flip 5Oppo Find N2 Flip and Moto Razr 40.

ViewSonic M1 Pro Portable Projector Review: Multipurpose Champ

0
ViewSonic M1 Pro Portable Projector Review: Multipurpose Champ

[ad_1]

Projectors can be big, detailed, and geared for a proper home-theatre experience, and are often the first choice in large spaces and purpose-built home theatre rooms. On the other hand, they can also be small, portable, versatile, and a means to give you entertainment or productivity benefits on the go. The latter use case is a particularly interesting one in the home entertainment and productivity space, and brands such as ViewSonic have made a big impact in promoting a segment that is often under-appreciated and overlooked.

Among the projector and monitor specialist’s latest products in the portable projector space is the ViewSonic M1 Pro, which is priced at Rs. 68,999 in India. With a projection resolution of 1280×720 pixels, a unique design where the projector can stand freely and project in various directions, and a built-in speaker system, the M1 Pro promises a lot for the price. Is this the best portable projector you can buy right now? Find out in this review.

viewsonic m1 pro review projecting ViewSonic

The ViewSonic M1 Pro has a projection resolution of 1280×720 pixels, and can go up to 150 inches in size

ViewSonic M1 Pro design and specifications

The spiritual and successor of the ViewSonic M1, the newer and more capable M1 Pro sticks to the same positioning by offering completely wireless usability thanks to its built-in battery. The Pro version also gets a bump in resolution, a better speaker system, and an improved form factor on the whole, although all of this does come with a significant increase in price as well.

On the other hand, it’s a fair bit more portable than the ViewSonic M2e, thanks to that built-in battery and 0.95kg weight. While the M2e is better considered a home theatre projector with some flexibility in how and where you can use it, it’s not quite as portable and versatile as the M1 Pro. For this reason, the M1 Pro fits into a rather interesting niche, promising to serve its rather specialised purpose quite well.

It’s not very large or bulky as far as projectors go, but that doesn’t mean that the ViewSonic M1 Pro is a small device. It’s also a lot nicer to look at and hold than the M1, thanks to the fabric-wrapped exterior and more subtle design elements. There are three buttons to control volume and playback for supported sources on the projector itself. At the back is the Harman Kardon logo, just above the smartly positioned rear-facing two-driver 6W speaker system.

The state of power is determined by opening or closing the swivelling stand, which also doubles up as the lens protector when the M1 Pro is switched off. When on, a dim light illuminates under the fabric wrap to let you know it’s functional, along with another set of lights to let you know the battery level of the ViewSonic M1 Pro. There are exhaust vents on either side of the projector, along with a dial to adjust the focus of the lens.

All of the ports and sockets on the ViewSonic M1 Pro are located under a magnetic flap on the left side of the projector — more on that in the next section. Auto keystone correction means that you can set the projection to any reasonable angle while the M1 Pro is standing upright, and the device will set it to a proper screen ratio and angles. The ViewSonic M1 Pro has a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, and can project up to a screen size of 150 inches.

Brightness is rated at up to 600 lumens, and the projection lamp is rated for up to 30,000 hours of use. The focal length on the ViewSonic M1 is fixed, so the size of the projection depends on how far away from the wall or screen you position the projector. There is slightly variable digital zoom ranging from 0.8X to 1.0X for minor adjustments, but this is only meant for optimisation rather than actually setting the screen size.

viewsonic m1 pro review top ViewSonic

The ViewSonic M1 Pro has buttons to control volume and playback at the top, while the focus adjusting dial is on the side

While you can get a sharp projection from even up close, ViewSonic recommends a throw distance of at least 0.94m, which provides a projection size of 40 inches, going up to a size of 150 inches from a throw distance of 3.52m, but anything over 100 inches is likely to result in a sharp drop in projection quality and sharpness.

Included in the sales package along with the ViewSonic M1 Pro are a large charging brick which plugs into the DC 19V socket, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable for connectivity to source devices, a remote to navigate the built-in Android-based UI and control basics such as volume and source, and a hard-shell carry case for the entire package.

ViewSonic M1 Pro connectivity and features

Connectivity features on the ViewSonic M1 Pro are impressive for a device of its size. There are sockets for power and wired headphone/speaker connectivity, along with two USB Type-C ports, one USB Type-A port, and an HDMI port. There are also wireless connectivity options, including Wi-Fi based screen mirroring and Bluetooth 4.2 for audio connectivity to compatible headphones and speakers.

While the ViewSonic M1 Pro has a projection resolution of 1280×720 pixels, the system itself supports input resolutions of up to 1920×1080 pixels, which will then be upscaled or downscaled as necessary. USB Type-C is the most convenient of the connectivity options on offer since it can handle both video and audio using a single cable, but the presence of HDMI connectivity will no doubt be useful to many.

The ViewSonic M1 Pro has a large 12,000mAh battery which can be used to power the projector itself, but you can also use it as a power bank, of sorts. In my case, I found this a bit inconvenient, as the projector was charging my laptop while the two devices were connected using a USB Type-C cable, which drained the projector’s battery rapidly. I had to connect it to DC power to negate this issue, which naturally didn’t happen when using an HDMI cable with a compatible source device such as the Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen).

viewsonic m1 pro review ports ViewSonic

There are plenty of connectivity options on the ViewSonic M1 Pro, including USB Type-C, HDMI, and wireless

Like some of the other ViewSonic projectors I’ve reviewed, the M1 Pro has a very basic Android-based user interface of its own. This helps for basic things such as accessing and modifying system settings and configurations, and connecting to some source devices such as USB drives, to access media content through the file explorer.

There is 16GB of internal storage on the ViewSonic M1 Pro (12GB is usable) for apps and data. Apps themselves are not very detailed given that navigation and control relies on the remote, and are barely usable. The Netflix app, for example, is preinstalled, but is rather difficult to figure out and use.

You can also use screen mirroring from compatible devices, with the use of an app for Android or direct support for AirPlay screen mirroring with iOS. With my iPhone, it worked well for some apps, including YouTube and Disney+ Hotstar, as well as basic productivity functions. It was convenient to project pictures or data, and the projector was reasonably bright even during daylight hours (with the curtains drawn, though). This also lets you use the ViewSonic M1 Pro completely wirelessly, thanks to wireless source connectivity and battery power.

However, apps such as Netflix and Prime Video couldn’t be used to directly project, and the casting options didn’t seem to work at all for me. As such, it’s best to use a source device to handle the actual UI, apps, or content, which can be a small streaming box such as the Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen), or even a laptop or home computer such as the Mac Mini.

ViewSonic M1 Pro performance and battery life

The ViewSonic M1 Pro’s positioning and feature set make it a unique offering that you won’t find too much competition for right now. It’s just as suited to productivity functionality as for entertainment, and considerably more so than the ViewSonic M1 for the latter thanks to the better projection resolution. Plenty of connectivity options means that it can be used with various source devices as well.

That said, the ViewSonic M1 Pro is still limited by its 1280×720-pixel resolution given the size of the projection itself. Smaller projection sizes looked fine for the most part including with content playing, and you’ll tend to forgive some flaws purely out of the knowledge that this is a projection. However, larger projection sizes reveal the natural shortcomings in the resolution rather clearly. If I was just projecting my laptop screen this didn’t matter too much, but it definitely impacted the viewing experience for movies and TV shows.

The ViewSonic M1 Pro has a 6W speaker system tuned by Harman Kardon

Usefully, the ViewSonic M1 Pro is quick to boot, and is ready to go within a few seconds of turning the cover-stand and putting it in position. Connectivity is also reliable and quick, particularly USB Type-C which activates practically immediately on being plugged in. Even HDMI is almost instant, while using AirPlay for wireless connectivity with compatible iOS devices was similarly hassle-free and quick. Quick and accurate keystone correction also lets you set it up at any angle for convenience, although the best performance will be seen with the projector pointed horizontally at the projection screen or wall.

In normal operation, the exhaust fan system in the ViewSonic M1 Pro is constantly throwing out hot air on either side of the projector, and the humming sound of the fan can be heard from up close. It isn’t too loud though, and keeping yourself even around one metre away from it will negate the sound entirely. Although the 6W speaker system doesn’t sound like much, it’s loud enough and well tuned to be heard clearly from a similar distance.

At home, I had the ViewSonic M1 Pro placed on a table and projecting onto a white wall from around 1.4m away, which made for a projection that was around the same size as a 55-inch television. Sitting right behind the projector, I quite liked the view and projection size, even if I was a bit close to the wall. Reducing the light was necessary for a good viewing experience though, and focus will need to be manually set for best results.

Watching cricket matches and episodes of Star Wars: Visions on Disney+ Hotstar was fairly enjoyable, and the darker the room the better it looked. The projector is bright enough to cover for faint daylight streaming in, and with the focus properly adjusted the picture was sharp enough to watch.

The ViewSonic M1 Pro includes a remote, which is needed to control the device

The softer edges of the animated episodes of Visions helped a bit, but the projector is reasonably capable in this regard nonetheless. There were occasional visible issues, but these are bearable when you consider this as an alternative to the considerably smaller screen of your smartphone or laptop.

It’s important to remember that this kind of projector isn’t meant to be an everyday option; think of this as something to take along on your travels for entertainment in your hotel room, or for productivity purposes, such as to quickly project presentations and spreadsheets onto a conference room screen from your laptop. It’s admittedly a lot better with the latter, given how it will more closely match the resolution and display ratio of a typical laptop or tablet screen.

The 12,000mAh battery on the ViewSonic M1 Pro might sound considerable, but projection is a power-intensive activity. As such I was able to use the M1 Pro for just around one hour in normal use, which might go up a bit if you use ‘Eco’ mode. This might come in handy in certain situations, but you’ll largely need to have the projector plugged into power for all practical purposes.

Verdict

ViewSonic’s dedication to the projector space is rather impressive, and the company is among the few that offer niche projectors such as the ViewSonic M1 Pro, and the M1 and M2e before it. The M1 Pro fits a rather niche use case, and is arguably quite expensive give that you can buy a decent 65-inch TV for the same price, but the versatility and utility of the device is unmatched – if this is what you’re looking for.

Although the ViewSonic M1 Pro is better geared for productivity use cases, it’s worthwhile even for the occasional movie or TV show on the go. Additionally, the built-in battery adds some flexibility to how you can use it, and a full set of connectivity options means you can connect it to just about any modern source device, either using cables or wirelessly. If this is something you’re looking for and have the budget for it, the ViewSonic M1 Pro gets a recommendation from me.

Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro Reportedly Spotted on FCC Certification Website Ahead of Debut: All Details

[ad_1]

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are confirmed to be launching in October. The company has announced the October 4 launch date via X (formerly known as Twitter). Weeks ahead of their debut, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have reportedly visited the FCC certification website. The listing suggests that the upcoming Pixel 8 series could be launched in 5 variants. Recently, Pixel 8 Pro was spotted on Google’s promo page for Google Subscriptions & Services revealing the colour option and the rear design.

According to a report by 9to5Google, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have been spotted on FCC (Federal Communications Commission) website weeks ahead of their debut. The FCC listing for the smartphones suggest that the phones may launch in five variants. The Pixel 8 is listed with model numbers GKWS6, G9BQD, GZPF0, GPJ41 and G1MNW, whereas the Pixel 8 Pro is said to carry the model number G1MNW.

Additionally, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are likely to support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6E, and both Sub6 and mmWave 5G connectivity. The FCC is a US government agency which regulates communications and all electronic devices emitting radio waves are required to be certified by it.

Meanwhile, Google Pixel 8 Pro image has also been spotted on Google’s promo page for Google Subscriptions & Services. The leaked image reveals the colour option as well as the rear design. The smartphone has been teased in a Porcelain White colourway. It is likely to feature a triple rear camera setup housed in a single pill-shaped camera island. In addition to these, the presence of another sensor has also been hinted sitting next to the LED flash.

Google Pixel 8 series has also been tipped to debut as an eSIM-only smartphone in select regions. The leaked renders suggested that the SIM card slots were missing on the left side. However, these details have not yet been confirmed by Google, hence, it is recommended to consider it with a grain of salt.

iQoo Z7 Pro 5G First Impressions: Style With Substance?

[ad_1]

The iQoo Z7 Pro 5G is the latest addition to the company’s Z series of smartphones in India. iQoo is pushing the processor and the design as some of the phone’s unique selling points. Armed with a more stylish design than the iQoo Z7 5G, should you be considering the new Z7 Pro 5G as your next mid-range purchase? Here’s our initial thoughts on the new 5G smartphone.

The Z7 Pro 5G comes with the typical bundled accessories, and this includes a 66W power adapter and a transparent case. The charging brick is pretty big and has a USB Type-A port. The phone is priced at Rs. 21,999 and Rs. 22,999, for the 128GB and 256GB variants respectively.

The iQoo Z7 Pro 5G looks very stylish in this Blue Lagoon colour. It’s also available in a Graphite Matte colour. It’s very light at just 175g and is only 7.36mm thick, giving it a very premium look and in-hand feel. Despite this slim size, iQoo has managed to pack a 4,600mAh battery inside. The body is also IP52 rated to withstand dust and water.

The other highlight is the processor. The iQoo Z7 Pro 5G features a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC which is built on a 4nm fabrication process and should be very power efficient. iQoo is touting that the Z7 Pro 5G can achieve an AnTuTu (v10) score of over 700K. The phone has 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and comes in two storage configurations of 128GB and 256GB, both adhering to the UFS 2.2 standard.

The display also feels premium. The iQoo Z7 Pro 5G sports a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution, curved edges on two sides, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The display is also claimed to have a touch sampling rate of 300Hz and a boosted rate of up to 1,200Hz. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate. As for scratch protection, the display also gets Schott’s Xensation Up glass.

The iQoo Z7 Pro 5G runs Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13, and you get many preinstalled apps. Coming to the cameras, the phone features a 64-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel portrait camera, but sadly, misses out on an ultra-wide camera. iQoo has provided optical stabilisation or OIS for the main camera, and the sensor in use is the Samsung GW3. The selfie camera is a 16-megapixel sensor.

Overall, the iQoo Z7 Pro 5G could potentially be decent mid-range contender if design and performance are important to you. We’ll have our final verdict on the phone very soon in the full review.
